Our responsibility as makers

We do our best to tread lightly on this earth. 

In an effort to reduce waste in our studio, we recycle all our elastane blend fabrics, nylon and elastic remnants through the TerraCycle® Zero Waste Box™. These remnants are shipped to TerraCycle® where they are sorted and processed into raw materials for future use.

While we do our best to make considered choices with the materials we use and how we use them, we need to be honest that garment making always has an impact on our environment.

The most important way to ensure that the resources that went into making your pieces are not wasted, is to take care of them. When properly cared for, our pieces will last a very long time.

When they're no longer serving you we will gladly recycle your old swoon pieces for you. Please contact us and we will arrange collection for recycling through TerraCycle®.

N.B. We are currently working on a plastic-free, natural fibre range that is fully home compostable. If you're interested in learning more, or would like to provide feedback to be considered in development please contact us here.

Care

To ensure the best wear from your pieces over time, they should be hand washed in warm water with gentle detergent.

We recommend washing your garments in the shower – better for your underwear and the environment.

Elastane does not like heat or UV exposure. Drip dry to keep soft and stretchy.  

If you choose to wash your pieces in the washing machine, use a cold delicate cycle only, washing separately and in a laundry bag.
